Sunshine Island Inn is an adults-only property on East Gulf Drive in the historic Old Town district of Sanibel Island, with a minimum guest age of 25. The single-storey inn offers a handful of colorful one- and two-bedroom cottage-style suites, each with air conditioning, cable television, a private patio and a kitchen area stocked with cookware, dishware, utensils and a coffee maker. Grounds are heavily planted with tropical vegetation and centred on a heated outdoor pool with sun loungers and umbrellas, while a private dock on the adjoining canal gives guests a place to fish or launch a kayak. A walking path leads to the shelling beaches on the Gulf of Mexico a couple of hundred paces away. Free WiFi, free self-parking, barbecue grills, beach towels and on-site laundry facilities are provided, and pets are not accepted. The Sanibel lighthouse, marina, restaurants and roughly 30 miles of island bike trails are nearby.
